Charitable Trusts, Charitable Foundations, Community Grant Givers.
St Loye’s Foundation is a registered charity and therefore welcomes any funding from Grant making Trusts or Foundations towards the work we do.
We are predominately a ‘welfare to work’ charity, we help disabled and disadvantaged people into employment. The Foundation was established in 1937 to train injured servicemen returning from the war. St Loye’s has continued to train anyone with a disability or health condition ever since. We are also much more than a training facility, we give personal development and support which enables our trainees to lead a fully inclusive life
We specialise in helping people who have any kind of physical or mental health condition many people also invariably have other ‘barriers’ to work as well. We have become a much respected organisation working with those who are the hardest to help and those who are furthest from the labour market.
It’s a big task, many people who come to St Loye’s have already been through a number of programmes that didn’t work for them for many reasons, some stay with us for up to a year before they move on into sustainable employment and an independent life.
People in need don’t naturally fit into little boxes that describe them, so who do we help? Here are just some descriptions of our client groups:-

The value of St Loye’s Foundation is cannot always be attributed to any one of the above activities, it is usually a combination of many activities, but it always embodies the very ethos of St Loye’s Foundation.
As with many organisations, St Loye’s has a “feel” to it which can be hard to define, but is vital to the core of our work. We pride ourselves on our person-centred approach, treating every person as unique and addressing their own specific set of requirements and needs, whilst ensuring a realistic employment goal. We have created a special place of very caring and capable people where people can develop and grow.
Some of our clients are residential, staying at our new accommodation at
We would welcome your donation to our cause, we can spend as much as you could give us and each penny would be well-spent.
We also value EVERY GIFT and whatever you give is very welcome and will make a difference to the thousand or more people we help each year.
Your gift is a lasting one, it could help just one person get a job and keep it. It could help them learn a trade; buy a bike to get there, some tools they may need. You could change their life, their family’s life and put them in their own place in society, not outside of it. And even if over time their job ends, you will have helped to give them the knowledge, skills and confidence to get another one – you will have changed their life.
Here are some examples of the things we always need funds for:
1. Seeds and tools for the gardening, landscaping and horticulture department.
2. Uniforms, work-wear or boots necessary for jobs.
3. Transport – minibus, bus, train tickets, bicycles or mopeds, mobility aids.
4. ICT equipment for training plus laptops for clients use away from St Loye’s
5. Days out, sports, trips, Christmas party for our clients.
6. Kitchen equipment and other needs for residential accommodation
7. Rural Basic skills Programme we want to instigate in
8. Special Programme to support people with Autism into work (currently 6%)
9. To set up new businesses for clients to be self-employed
10. Salaries and core costs as ever!
