St Loye's will be working as a subcontractor to the UK wide Working Links and will be focusing on delivering results on two initiatives – 'Improving Job Search' and 'Getting Ready for Work'.
Jack Harland, Head of Programmes at St Loye's said: "Improving Job Search is aimed Job Seeker Allowance (JSA) customers with moderate support needs and people who have recently been made redundant, or are at risk of redundancy.
"We will be specifically looking to build confidence and motivation, improve soft skills and develop job search tools and techniques.
'Getting Ready for Work' will deliver more intensive support to lone parents, carers and New Deal for Partners customers. Support will be offered in vocational training and qualification, job search support, motivational training and support to tackle additional barriers to finding work.
"We have set an ambitious but achievable target which will draw heavily on St Loye's vast knowledge and experience of undertaking this kind of work.In order to meet our objectives, we have taken additional premises at The Courtyard in Exeter city centre which will act as a dedicated Personal Development Centre. A dedicated team of staff, experienced in this field of delivery, will act as tutors and mentors."
The commencement of this new contract follows the announcement that St Loye's Enterprises has just employed its first group of long term unemployed 18-24 year olds as part of a Government-backed Future Jobs Fund initiative aimed at helping up to 70 young people find sustainable jobs.
