Projects we want to do

Our Wish List

This is our list of projects that are identified as a need but we still need to raise the money to do.

1. Laptops-The vast majority of our clients undertake training at St Loye’s. They work on PC’s and other equipment in our building, but then they do extra work at home, in the evenings or weekends. Some also go into self employment or do their jobs on the road. The clients in all these scenarios would benefit greatly from a laptop. With all the extras, software, etc they cost around £500 each.

We need to raise £500 for each laptop.

2. Sustainable Employment-The provision of the Sustainable Employment service comes at a very low cost per individual, but it will make the difference between falling back into the cycle of poor motivation and commitment, due to lack of confidence and skills, or successfully finding and sustaining employment.  Each trainee has an agreed “Back to Work” plan worked on in partnership with their personal development support officer.  This, combined with support and guidance to take up employment, ensures that each one has the best opportunity to train, gain and retain sustainable employment in the long term.

Such a plan has many facets; some are simply practical but also extremely important. For instance, among the many things trainees will need help with could be:

 Travel costs to interviews,

 Financial support for clothing, (again for interviews, but also for work wear)

 Further courses to develop their life skills,

 Mentoring and emotional support.

Equipment to enable them to do their job, such as a tool kit or workboots.

We need to raise £545 for each trainee that comes through St Loye’s.

3. Moving Into Work – a specialised programme to enable 50 people to gain sustainable employment who have Learning Disabilities and more specifically Autism. Currently only 6% of the adult population with Autism work which is far lower than other groups and we know how to help them.

We need £165,000 for a 12 month project to aid 50 people.

THESE SAMPLES ARE SOME OF THE MANY PROJECTS WE WOULD LIKE TO DO,

Examples of some of our smaller costs you can find on our fund-raising pages.

There are some much bigger ones too!

If you (possibly with others) would like to help us make these projects a reality you can specify where you would like your money to go. It is frankly easier for us if we have general funds donated as we have the freedom to respond according to the need.

However, sometimes people, or groups, or companies like to pay for a SPECIFIC item or items. If that makes it easier for you to give or to fund-raise for we would be really pleased to hear from you.
