  • St Loye’s Named Charity of the Year for Exeter Uni’s Raise and Give

St Loye's and Exeter Uni RAGOn the 15th of May University of Exeter’s Raise and Give (RAG) society formally announced that St Loye’s Foundation and Exeter Leukemia Fund were chosen to be the two sponsored charities for 2015-16.

Raise and Give (RAG) is a fundraising organisation run by University of Exeter Students’ Guild that exists to raise money for a variety of charities and offer students the opportunity to volunteer and gain experience.

Each year dozens of charities submit a well prepared application in an aim to be nominated one of the RAG charities of the year.

Six charities were invited to visit the university and given the opportunity to talk to students about the work they do and explain why they should vote for them.

St Loye’s Foundation was among the six chosen charities and was delighted to be announced as one of the sponsored charities of the year. The money raised will really help to transform the lives of disabled and disadvantaged people.

Laura Yonish, Fundraising Co-ordinator at University of Exeter Students’ Guild, said on behalf of RAG: “We are absolutely ecstatic to be partnered with St Loye’s Foundation and Exeter Leukaemia Fund for the upcoming academic year. The University of Exeter Students voted overwhelmingly for St Loye’s Foundation to become a Nominated Charity and RAG feel extremely lucky to be working with such a vital and inspirational local charity.”

“We hope that this year will be an extremely successful one for RAG and that we are able to help continue the fantastic work of St Loye’s and impact our local community.”

Lianne Harding, Community Fundraiser for St Loye’s Foundation said: “St Loye’s Foundation is over the moon to be selected for Charity of the Year by Exeter University’s RAG. I am thoroughly looking forward to working with them over the coming year in order to raise vital funds to help transform more disabled and disadvantaged peoples’ lives.”
