Kerry Weatherburn – Trusts and Legacy Fundraiser

Kerry joined St Loye’s Foundation in 2000 as a Trust Fundraiser and has since taken on the Legacy fundraising role too.

“I feel passionate about the work of St Loye’s Foundation, enabling people with disabilities to get into sustainable employment and it’s as important today as when the Foundation was started in 1937.

“I make applications to Grant Making Trusts and Foundations for grants to fund our new projects and services for supporting our trainees in their quest for employment training. Trusts and Foundations tend to fund work that wouldn’t usually receive government funding, for instance new services to tackle problems and one off purchases and projects. Trust fundraising is a very cost effective form of fundraising for all charities.

“Legacy fundraising for the Foundation consists of selective marketing and advertising; promoting legacies in our newsletters, leaflets and on our website. Our loyal supporters have been extremely kind over the years and we have been chosen by many to receive a gift from their will.”
