Claire’s Story

Job: Administrator at Citizens Advice Bureau

40 year-old Claire came to St Loye’s at a time when she was volunteering for charities because she had not been able to find work.

After her two day assessment, she joined St Loye’s Business Skills Course and subsequently has found a job as an administrator in an office environment.

Claire has identified the recognition that St Loye’s staff gave to her circumstances as making the difference to her successful outcome.

She said: “I felt that St Loye’s took into consideration the particularities of my situation and adjusted the support that I received to meet my individual needs.  The team at St Loye’s were extremely helpful and understood the situation I was in.

“This was especially useful when a potential job opportunity at the Citizens Advice Bureau arose as the staff at St Loye’s, the Citizens Advice Bureau and Jobcentre Plus pulled together to maximise the opportunity for me.  Within three months of this arising, I found myself in employment and really enjoying the job with first class post-training support.

“The highlight of my time with St Loye’s was being helped by a dedicated and caring team of people.”
